Find a good quality youtube video about the importance of drinking water. Share the link in your post and summarize in 5-10 sentences what you learned.
December 12th: Assignment #1 Due by 3pm
Dinner! Cook a vegetable dish for your family and/or friends. Find a recipe that uses fresh vegetables (not canned) and create a log of your experience. You can leave it just a veggie entree to add to your family meal or you can serve it with meat, seafood and/or a healthy starch (couscous, whole wheat pasta, quinoa, etc). Please include photos of the food, if you can, and detail the process of making it: from going to the store, to chopping, to serving. Did your family and/or friends enjoy the dish(es)? Did you enjoy making it? What kind of physical activity was involved (walking to the store, chopping, etc).
Summarize your experience in at least 10 sentences.
I've heard it's good to walk after a meal. Find some form of safe, light exercise to do after dinner for seven days (in a row or every other day). You can do light yoga, stretch, go on a walk with family/friends, dance, etc.

Stretching is important to our physical health and well-being. Find one to two stretches online or through asking a family member, teacher or friend. Try them out. Share the stretch(es) with us in your post and describe your experience in 5-10 sentences.

Find 15 minutes in your day to commit to exercise (ranging from light to rigorous) -- this is your "personal health time." This can be any time of day and it can be every other day, every day or even every three days. Pick your activity, light to rigorous, and make a plan. Over two to three weeks, implement this plan consistently. What is your "personal health time" plan? Are you able to stick to it? Are you able to make it fun?
Show me your plan with a nice graphic and/or describe it clearly in 5-10 sentences. Is this something you would like to continue into the future? Why or why not? Please give a thoughtful response (3-5 sentences).

Refined foods are said to cause health problems. Some refined foods include white flour, white sugar and processed snack foods. Healthy unrefined alternatives include whole grains, all vegetables, nuts, eggs, fish, meat as well as unsweetened nut butters. Please list a refined food item that you eat on a regular basis. What is that favorite refined food item? What do you like about it?
For a few days, every time you would normally eat that refined food, eat an alternative unrefined food instead.
What was the unrefined food item? Did it make you feel any different after eating it?
Please leave a blog entry 5-10 sentences long talking about your experience.

Create a Cardio Log: Cardio exercise is so important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and healthy heart.
Find one cardio exercise on the internet.
For a span of seven days (consecutive or every other day) get your heart rate up for 10-20 min per day. Create a log of day, time and exercise duration. Which cardio exercise did you choose? How did you feel before and then after? Are you able to find the motivation? Did music help? What time of day is your "cardio time"? Dance parties are allowed. :) Please give a thoughtful response to these questions in addition to submitting your log.

Are there any secrets to getting a good night's sleep? Share the link in your post and summarize in 5-10 sentences what you learned and what changes you might make to your own sleep schedule, if any.

Try this experiment out and write 8-10 sentences about how it went and what you learned. (Thank you to Ty Shadburne for the excellent suggestion!)
Light exercise: Take a walk, have a small dance party, stretch, do some sort of physical activity after dinner every night for seven nights. Write 3-5 sentences about your experience.
